Senate approves Buhari’s request for 15 special advisers

The Senate has approved President Muhammadu Buhari’s request to appoint 15 Special Advisers. The approval comes exactly five days after the House of Representatives approved the same request.

Following Buhari sending the much-awaited ministerial list to the Senate on Tuesday, the PDP, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, said Buhari’s ministerial list was colourless, stagnant, uninspiring and did not convey any sense of hope or purposeful governance.

Kwara revokes acquisition of Alimi Chalet by Saraki

The Kwara State House of Assembly has revoked the acquisition of a four-bedroomed government challet (Alimi Chalet) by the immediate past Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, who is a former governor of the state.

The revocation followed the void of the acquisition, valuation and certification of Land title (Right of Occupancy) in respect of the chalet in the personal name of Dr Bukola Saraki for non-compliance with the provisions of Pensions Law 2010.

U.S. bans Nigeria’s 2019 election riggers, imposes visa restrictions 

The United States (U.S.) Department has imposed visa restrictions on Nigerians who were involved in trying to or undermined democracy in the concluded Nigeria’s 2019 presidential and parliamentary elections. It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari won a second term in office in February in an election characterized by logistical problems, violence and killings.

PDP condemns killings of DCP, Channels TV reporter, others

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condoled with family of Mr Precious Owolabi, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member attached to Channels Television who was killed in Abuja during a clash between Shiites and police.
