Ganduje presents staff of office to new Emirs

Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano state, has presented the staff of office to the four new emirs following the recent breakup of the Kano emirate

This is coming on the back of a court order which restrained the governor from implementing the breakup of the emirate. Abba Anwar, his chief press secretary, in a statement on Monday, said the governor presented the instrument to Aminu Ado-Bayero, the eldest son of the late emir of Kano, as the emir of Bichi.

Bandits kill six civilian JTF in Zamfara

Bandits on Sunday attacked and killed six members of the Civilian Joint Task Force in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara, Vice Chairman of the council, Sani Galadima said.

Mr Galadima made this known on Monday when he received the Minister of Interior, Abdurrahman Dambazau, who was on a visit to the state as part of efforts by the federal government to find sustainable solutions to the security challenges in the state.

Oshiomhole denies attacking Kogi gov, Bello over APC ticket

National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has dismissed as fake news, reports in the social media regarding its forthcoming governorship election primaries in Kogi and Bayelsa states. In a statement issued Monday in Abuja, National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, the APC cautioned party members, supporters and the general public on the fake news being spread in the social media on the upcoming Kogi and Bayelsa State governorship elections.

CBN governor Emefiele meets Buhari over leaked audio scandal

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, on Monday met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting occurs amidst a leaked audio scandal wherein the bank chief was heard discussing with his colleagues about a business deal gone bad. It is not clear if the audio leak was the crux of the meeting the president had with Emefiele. Neither Emefiele nor the presidency has provided details of the meeting.

Ngige inaugurates new NSITF board after two-year delay

The minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, has inaugurated the new National Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) board after a two-year delay.

Ngige while inaugurating the new board in Abuja, on Monday, said that the two-year delay in the inauguration is as a result of massive looting in the organisation between 2012 and 2015.
