Appeal Court reserves judgement in suit challenging Buhari’s academic qualifications

The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Monday reserved judgment in the appeal filed against President Muhammadu Buhari’s academic qualification for the 2019 presidential election.

A three-member panel of the court, led by Atinuke Akomolafe-Wilson, after taking arguments from parties in respect of the appeals, said they would be informed when the judgments are ready.

Nura Dahiru, an assistant superintendent of customs, on Monday promoted himself to the rank of deputy comptroller-general of Customs (DCG), claiming he was directed by President Buhari to assume the office of comptroller-general (CG). According to sources, Dahiru walked in Monday morning wearing the new rank, and went into the office of Hameed Ali, the comptroller general.

Suspend 111 reps who endorsed Elumelu, minority lawmakers dare PDP

Some lawmakers in the house of representatives have tackled the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for suspending Ndudi Elumelu, minority leader of the house.

Addressing journalists on Monday, the lawmakers said Elumelu and other principal minority officers were duly elected. Femi Gbajabiamila, the speaker, had announced Elumelu as minority leader, Toby Okechukwu as deputy minority leader, Gideon Gwani as minority whip and Adesegun Adekoya as deputy minority whip.
