The scourge of the Boko Haram is one thing that many Nigerians would agree has been felt for many years. The terrorist group has over time, inflicted pain, misery, and fear that has crippled the progress of the country. And in finding a solution to this scourge, many Nigerians and allies of Nigeria have proposed a few methods to curb their insurgencies – a lot of these methods have proved abortive.
Nigeria has adopted both counterterrorism and counterinsurgency measures to fight this terrorist sect, and one other notable take is the amnesty for terrorists that have been flying around the country as far back as 2013 (or earlier). While this option rigs a lot of uproar for many Nigerians, civil and otherwise, a few others go on to see just how right it is to offer these terrorists a ‘second chance’
Senator Ali Ndume told BBC Hausa that a “repentant” Boko Haram fighter released by the Buhari admin has killed his father, robbed his wealth & disappeared [possibly back to BH]. He claimed that most released fighters go back to BH and that his constituents reject the initiative.

On Twitter this morning, Boko Haram is topping the trend charts as many people are expressing rage over recent reports of their insurgencies which can be traced back to a Nigerian Lawmaker’s statement. Senator Ali Ndume, in a recent interview with BBC Hausa yesterday, criticized the federal government over amnesty granted to some 601 Boko Haram insurgents, saying a repentant sect member who was recently integrated into his community has returned to insurgency after killing his father and stealing his valuables.
Ndume, who represents Borno South in the Senate, queried the government’s rationality in spending money to reform the insurgents. Ndume said: “They are like Kharijites (a notorious killer group in ancient Arabia). Many among those released have since ran away. They will never repent.”

Following his concise statement, another report shared, showed the Boko Haram (in reaction), launched an attack on the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, yesterday. With videos shared, the sect was seen in a battle of firearms with the convoy of the governor.

Another unrelated report that has got people talking about the terrorist group is reports of an ambush launched at members of the Nigerian Army as this attack claimed the lives of nine soldiers, including a newly married officer.
The audacity of the Boko Haram is growing by the day and their activities are leaving room for more questions as Nigerians are expressing concerns on the state of security in Nigeria and for Nigerians. With every passing government, the promise to fight corruption and insurgency is apt, and with every government, they have aptly failed. Many are left wondering if the insurgency of the Boko Haram will ever be over in Nigeria.
While some reiterated that rehabilitating the so-called repentant Boko Haram members is ideal, others debated that option to be outrageous and contemptuous.
2. They have put the horse before the cart. No one is giving IDPs start-up packs, no one is resettling them.
But quickly, like thunderbolt, they are resettling these blood thirsty terrorists, giving them monies & patting them on the back for a job well done in killing Nigerians.

When was the last time you applied for the National ID card?
Have you received yours after applying for years?
But the so called "repentant Boko Haram" have received theirs.
They have started unleashing terror on the citizens just as we predicted.
Pathetic!

This is unfair to society.
Majority of these so-called "repentant‘’ Boko Haram terrorists re-integrated into the society will radicalize others in the community, and becoming spies to their former terrorist captains. pic.twitter.com/y9maaS0fOl

Reading news should be an ideal start to the day after morning prayers. But reading Nigeria news is synonymous to receiving bad news at the start of a day.Otherwise, waking up on a bright day and seeing Boko Haram killing. Yet our government keep proving their uselessness daily

Erase Boko haram now or harbor huge sorrow in time to come.Insecurity in Nigeria is a huge threat to national unity and if not tackled will escalate to state capital, refineries and Transportation using explosives to kill. The more the delay the more they plan.#news https://t.co/dx8ad9EC7N
