Suicide bombers attack University of Maiduguri again

Three suicide bombers have been killed in the wee hours of Saturday while attempting to gain access to the Department of Works of the University of Maiduguri in Borno State‎.

The incident occurred at about 1.10 a.m last night Saturday.

A security guard was killed from the explosions.

A source said the incident happened around 1am on Saturday.

“A male and female suicide bomber struck at the mechanical works department of the university,” the source said.

“One security guard was killed and a soldier injured. The injured soldier has been taken to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.”

‎The corpses have being evacuated by rescuers from the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, and Borno State Emergency Management Agency, BOSEMA.

The group recently released 82 Chibok girls from captivity, over three years after they were kidnapped from their secondary school in Chibok, Borno State.

They were released in exchange for the freedom of some Boko Haram fighters.
