How Twitter users saved UNILAG law student from suicide

True to the words of Paulo Coelho which reads that “when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it,” so is the case of Adefehinti Scott‏, a Student of Law at the University of Lagos, who has been saved from imminent suicide by kind-spirited Twitter users after days of battling to raise money for his fees to resume at the Nigerian Law School.

Scott, who is himself a Twitter user had on two occasions posted on his handle that he might not go to law school because he could not raise N296,000 for the purpose, stating that he had gone into depression.

It got worse when on Tuesday, he tweeted that he was a depressed human walking the street with a fake smile, adding that he wanted to end his life. Same day, he posted a screenshot of a message with a friend who expressed surprise that he was yet to raise the money, suggesting therefore that he may have to defer the admission until the next batch.

However, bent on pursuing his dreams, Scott on Wednesday tweeted his bank details soliciting funds from users of the platform, while imploring them to retweet the message in order to pull through on raising the money.

To the amazement of dozens of people, he returned to his Twitter handle on Thursday with screenshots of his fees paid and as shown in a tweet by another user, even got assistance with his bus fare to school.

Wonders like they say, truly happen!
