Spot the governor: Amaechi’s body language at the PDP peace meeting speaks volumes (See Photos)

Amaechi ceasefire

by Akan Ido

The meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan and governors of the Peoples Democratic Party who staged a walkout weeks ago during the party’s mini-convention in Abuja has been described as ‘fruitful.’

The president convened the meeting to iron out the contentious issues mitigating against peace in the party and to discuss ways of amicably resolving the crisis.

It is, however, noteworthy to observe the body language of Rivers governor, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi who appeared defiant and discontent regardless of the direction and outcome of the meeting. The governor chose to stand behind others with the only exception being the Cross River governor, Liyel Imoke who is well positioned considering his height.

We hope this turns out to be a faulty observation but we implore you to check out the pictures and decide what you think.

The governors present at the Aso Rock reconciliatory meeting were Rotimi Amaechi, Babangida Aliyu, Liyel Imoke , Godswill Akpabio, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Abdulfatah Ahmed, Sule Lamido and more.

Others present at the meeting were the PDP BoT chairman, Tony Anenih and Vice President Namadi Sambo.

Another meeting has been slated for October 7.
