Someone stole the corpse of a SAN in Enugu

The corpse of  Theodore Ezeobi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, was reportedly stolen from the Christ Specialist Hospital, Enugu, on the morning of Thursday, 31 July.

The mortuary was said to have been broken in to and the corpse of the late lawyer who died four months ago, was stolen. Late Chief Ezeobi who was from Osikwu village, Awgbu, in Orumba North local government area of Anambra State, was scheduled to be buried on the same day his corpse was stolen.

Ebere Amaraizu, the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that the mortician on duty when the corpse was stolen, has been arrested and was already being interrogated with a view to finding out how the corpse disappeared from the morgue.

He said, “It is a true story that the corpse of the Senior Advocate of Nigeria from Anambra State disappeared from a hospital in Enugu and we are investigating the matter now. The mortician on duty that morning is in our custody and he is helping us in our investigations.”

However, sources indicate that the corpse may have been taken somewhere in Anambra State for the funeral, which was however aborted as security operatives arrived the village to search for the corpse.
