Some men can’t ‘perform’ in bed if their wives earn more than they do – New study

Relationships face many struggles and now times are changing men and women are figuring out the new power dynamics in their relationships. It is becoming less and less uncommon for a women to be the bread winner of the family and that is financially changing the dynamic of what was once a patriarchal design. That shift in the structure is leading men to feel less powerful, which is becoming apparent in their love lives. Every man wants his woman to do well in life, but that doesn’t mean that they want them to do better than them.

At lease these men are not giving up intimacy without a fight! A study showed that married men that are out-earned by their spouses are more likely to take Viagra and other performance enhancing pills than men who are the main providers for their families. Researchers have yet to put a finger on the exact reason behind this phenomenon, but it is believed that a man’s performance is likely to suffer in that situation as a result of lost pride and frustration.

Both Danish and American researchers began picking apart this issue and then looked into the salary information on prescription data for over 200,000 couples. The researchers noticed that salary did have an effect on who bought the drugs. Men who’s wives earned more than $12,000 than them were twice as likely to use Viagra. The researchers say, ‘Even small differences in relative income are associated with large changes in erectile dysfunction medication usage when they shift the marriage from a male to a female breadwinner.’

It may be an understatement to say that some men can not handle losing control; or at least not financial control.
