Smooth FM has risen to the number five position in the YNaija top 25 countdown for radio stations. The Lagos-based station owned by Fenchurch Media and Broadcasting Network previously occupied the tenth position. Its rise is due partly to its increased listenership in the month under review. The quality of its programming has also not gone unnoticed, as its Breakfast Show hosted by Sope Martins and Folu Storms has been dubbed a must-listen by many. The presenters are unlike many OAPs who speak on the airwaves. They actually have a hang of what they are talking about. They don’t speak in confused tones, neither do they speak over the heads of callers.

Wazobia FM maintained its number one position on the ranking as its maintained the core of its listeners. Traffic Radio which made its debut on the countdown at the 25th position rose five places this month. The station rose as many Lagosians – especially road users tune to its frequency to get traffic update on its ever busy roads.
