Sexual assault: Weinstein begs for second chance

Speaking to photographers outside his daughter’s house in West Hollywood, disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein has said he is “not doing okay” as he left Los Angeles to board a private jet reportedly headed for a rehab in Arizona, Sky News reports.

The Oscar-winning film producer said, “I’m not doing okay, I’m trying – gotta get help. You know what? We all make mistakes.”

Weinstein through his spokeswoman apologised for causing “a lot of pain” with “the way he behaved with colleagues in the past.

The 65-year-old also said he hoped he would get “a second chance” as make plea to his wife Georgina Chapman who just left him.

In a statement, Weinstein said he supported the decision of his wife to leave him but said he hoped they could “rebuild” their relationship after his spell in rehab.

More women step forward

However, the list of accusers has continued to grow, with British model Cara Delevingne and French actress Lea Seydoux the latest to come forward with accusations against Weinstein.

Seydoux narrated how she was forced to defend herself when Weinstein “jumped” on her and tried to kiss her in a hotel room, while Delevingne claimed he tried to make her kiss another woman while he watched.

Meanwhile, host of ‘The Oscars’, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced a special meeting to be held on Saturday to determine whether they should take any action against Weinstein.

In a statement, it said, “The Academy finds the conduct described in the allegations against Harvey Weinstein to be repugnant, abhorrent, and antithetical to the high standards of the Academy and the creative community it represents.”
