What is Senator Dino Melaye selling – dreams or peanuts?

A senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dino Melaye – known for his boisterous and raucous character in and out of the National Assembly as well as his famous House of Representative brawl in 2014 which left his clothes torn – has now turned into a motivational speaker.

Same man who dubbed the embattled Bukola Saraki the irremovable senate president, took to his Twitter page with a picture meant to inspire his followers and all who cared to read, as well as give insight to his own struggles.

The picture, in its own right is the perfect example of a paradox!

Dino, in the picture, looked well dressed as per usual (except for when his shirt was ripped to shreds during that altercation in the NASS) with his flashy and huge ring, fitting timepiece and properly tailored native attire.

The image of a man who has seen wealth.

Another display of wealth in the photo, is the hood of a sparkling luxurious Range Rover SUV peeking from the side. Dino has not hidden his love for exotic automobiles and has at different times even posed with his collections of exotic and expensive vehicles so it is not far fetched to believe the vehicle is his.

The Toyota Prado parked a few paces away is also a point to note!

Two things from the picture, however, portrayed his message for the struggling lower class.

Do not despise the days of humble beginnings- his own humble beginning being that he once sold groundnuts.

Going from the way he balanced the tray on his head, it surely would not be hard to believe that this man called Dino did sell groundnut at one time, maybe not in traffic though.

The uncouth nature of the area the picture was taken, contrasts against the cultured, rich and robust looking senator and his ‘fake’ customer Zaaky also depicts the wide berth between the supposed impoverished childhood Dino had and the obviously lavish life he lives now as an adult.

Such a long way.

His message to Nigerians is simple; no matter how hard things might be at the moment, it pays to dream of a better tomorrow and work towards it, for he said: Keep your dream alive. You can and will make it!

By the way, anyone in need of an available tailor can look closely at the wall behind Zaaky.

You’re welcome.
