On Monday, White House Communications Director, Anthony Scaramucci was sacked. His ouster was due to a power play between him and newly appointed Chief of Staff, John Kelly.
Scaramucci, who lasted only ten days in his position had boasted that he only reported to the President, as against the norm of working under the office of the Chief of Staff.
As the Trump wave sweeps any and every dissenting voice in the White House, one is right to question, who will be the next casualty of the president’s seeming erratic behaviour.
Sean Spicer really had almost nothing to do in the White House as Trump took up the position of his spokesperson via his personal Twitter account, @realDonaldTrump where he reaches almost 35 million people on a daily basis. Spicer was saddled with the responsibility of having to defend or explain the president’s tweet at White House press briefings – a difficult job for anyone to handle.
Spicer and Reince Priebus resigned their positions in Trump’s cabinet following the president’s decision to appoint, Scaramucci as White House Communications Director, against their counsel. Scaramucci was fired ten days after.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders, daughter of former Arkansas governor, Mike Huckabee has taken over from Spicer, but it remains to be seen how long she will last in her position.
Attorney General, Jeff Sessions remains top of the list for the next person to see the exit door. But Sessions has proved a hard nut to crack as attacks both from the presidency and politicians have left him undeterred.
Who will get the Trump effect next? Will it be Sanders, Sessions? Or will Trump decide that he has had enough of North Korean leader, 33-year-old, Kim Jong-un and boot him out of office as mooted by the CIA director?
Lest we forget there’s also Kellyanne Conway? Or will it be Bashir al-Assad, the Syrian President?
