It’s unfortunate how corruption always manages to find its way into every sector in Nigeria.
Practically every tier of government in Nigeria (federal to local) is enmeshed in some degree of corruption, public institutions and even those you would think would uphold certain moral standard; the religious and educational institutions, as well as the most basic of all; the family (where resources are unevenly distributed as a result of gender or age) are not free from this scourge.
It would also appear that in the mindset of the average Nigerian, bureaucracy is put in place for a few while the others can cut corners at the expense of others (the ones who are too weak to fight for themselves or oblivious to the fact that they are being swindled).
Embezzlement was the topic of discourse Thursday on Twitter as another high ranking official, serving in the educational sector was dismissed from duty over allegations of fraud.
Prof. Charles Uwakwe, Registrar of the National Examinations Council, (NECO), responsible for conducting one of the major Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations in the country, was dismissed from duty by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Following the news that the President relieved the NECO registrar and four other senior NECO staffs of their duty as a result of a N25 Billion Naira embezzlement scandal, Nigerian Twitter went into an uproar as many criticised him and even the President.
Buhari approves sack of suspended NECO registrar, Uwakwe, four others.
Why is it, that the most educated people in Nigeria, are the ones stealing & milking the country most. Earlier it was Prof Ojerinde of Jamb, now it is Prof Uwakwe of NECO. 25 billion misappropriated. God Dey pic.twitter.com/lNsho2bqqX— Tony4Real (@AEberonwu) May 20, 2020
How can someone that didn’t go to school or even have NECO result sack neco registrar ???

There were even tweets depicting tribal conspiracy.
Think about it, if the NECO registrar didn't commit corrupt practices would he have be sacked? Rather he makes the job of the President very easy to appoint his kinsman, if you consider it so. Just focus on the Nigeria Agenda, don't promote corruption with tribalaistic excuses.

While many called for the disbandment of the body entirely, stating that it has less credibility compared to its regional counterpart, the West African Examinations Council is an examination (WAEC), others cited that there was little or need for so many examination bodies with duplicity of functions.
Yea, I wrote NECO but I don't know what the result looks like, WAEC result came out and was awesome so I didn't bother to check NECO?
