We are retired politicians | Jonathan says after closed door meeting with Babangida

Former President Goodluck Jonathan and Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida on Wednesday held a closed door meeting in Minna, Niger State.

According to The Nation, Jonathan arrived Babangida’s residence with i n the company of some PDP members at about 10am.

The meeting between the two former leaders ended at about 12.14pm.

After the visit, Jonathan refused to speak to journalists, stating that it was a private visit.

He said, “Gentlemen please I am on a private visit, thank you.” I have not seen General Babangida since he returned from medical vacation and felt it was the right time to do so”.

He further added that nobody should be bothered about what they do because “we are retired politicians”.

Former Ogun state governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Chief Executive Officer of African Independent Television (AIT), Chief Raymond Dokpesi and former minister for education during the Babangida regime, Professor Tunde Adeniran had recently visited the former military leader.
