Popular purveyor of fake news, Paul Horner 38 has been found dead in Phoenix. Paul became famous for influencing the 2016 presidential election.

According to UK independent, Sheriff Casey’s office revealed that the peddler of hoaxes was found dead in his bed on Tuesday, September 18.

Another official , Fields Moseley told Mailonline that the cause and manner of Horner ’s death is yet unknown, but Casey suggested that there was evidence at the scene indicating the possibility of accidental overdose and no signs of foul play was seen.

Horner was known for writing false stories and disseminating internet hoaxes that often went viral on Facebook and hoodwinked thousands of people.

Among his false stories are, a story falsely claiming President Barack Obama was gay and a radical Muslim and another saying protesters were being paid thousands of dollars to demonstrate at Donald Trump ’s campaign rallies.

In an interview with The Washington Post in 2016, Horner who gained prominence during the 2016 election with his false stories which some believed influenced the election, said he thought Trump won the White House because of him.

“My sites were picked up by Trump supporters all the time. I think Trump is in the White House because of me. His followers don’t fact- check anything — they ’ll post everything, believe anything. His campaign manager posted my story about a protester getting paid $3, 500 as fact. Like, I made that up. I posted a fake ad on Craigslist”, Horner disclosed.

Horner’s stories which surprisingly made their way to Google news also got its link shared by members of Trump’s camp particularly, Son, Eric Trump and the then-campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.

Horner ’s brother known as J.J, said Paul considered his work satire and explained that his brother’s unique eye for hoaxes and hypocrisy at a young age later worked as clickbait in the internet world.

“So I think that was a lot of the genius behind a lot of his work was pushing ideas that either people wanted to believe or thought was possible ,” J .J . said.
