President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in Germany meeting with the Chancellor Merkel to discuss issues of shared interests between Nigeria and Germany. The discussions started yesterday and some of the topics that will be ticked off the list include further cooperation on security; the humanitarian situation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and rehabilitation of the North-East.
Germany, earlier had promised to donate €47.6m as as financial support to Nigeria for technical cooperation programmes and special project initiatives. A lot of us have interpreted this to mean that Germany is not open taking any refugees and so have paid us off in advance. LOL.
But that’s not why we are here right?
Bayo Omoboriowo, the President’s official photographer, as always is being kind by giving us pictorial updates of this trip to Germany.
The first set of pictures from yesterday were actually really cool. PMB looked as presidential as they come in his usual kaftan but paired it with a stylish beige trench and a Burberry muffler as he stepped off the runway.
Already desperate to find something to say about President and his fashion, we got on Burberry.com to find out whether the President’s trench is anything too in-season for the recessed economy. It turns out the trench is probably not even Burberry. So we moved on.
Today, however, the President has given us a legitimate reason to pick on him by repeating the same trench. It is the kind of behaviour that gets tongues wagging. Why repeat rumpled clothes please?
Like why? Why would you wear something this rumpled?
In light of PMB’s recent derogatory and “Trumped-up” remarks about his wife, Aisha, we can only conclude that this is what happens when he doesn’t have her with him.
From his remarks, it is obvious the Prsident would rather have Aisha bent over a stove iron in his kitchen pressing his clothes for him or in #TheOtherRoom folding them.
None of this can even be made to sound funny abeg.
