Police parade 19 over Zaki Biam massacre

The Nigerian Police Force Friday paraded nineteen suspects in relation to the massacre in Zaki Biam, Benue.

In a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, 17 male suspects and 2 female suspects were arrested for their involvement in the crime which claimed over 60 lives at the market.

According to Moshood the massacre which also led to the destruction of properties worth Millions of Naira was perpetrated by one Terwase Akwaza aka Ghana.

Following the incident, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris deployed Police Special Tactical Force and an high-powered investigation team to unravel the circumstances surrounding the gruesome killings and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Police investigations also revealed that Ghana was responsible for so many kidnappings, armed robberies and cultists violence leading to loss of lives and properties in other parts of Benue. Further investigation revealed that he is also responsible for the killing of Mr. Deneen Igbana (late) the Special Adviser on Security to the Executive Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom.

Moshood said the suspects confessed to being cohorts of Ghana adding that they will be charged to court on completion of investigation accordingly.

Some of the weapons recovered from the suspects include three AK 47 Rifles, three FN Rifles, thirty Hand-Grenades among others.
