The National Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, on Thursday dismissed the factional group Reformed APC and its sponsors, as he says reports that the party has broken up are far from the truth. 

Oshiomhole who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen shortly after a maiden meeting with the APC caucus in the House of Representatives said the party is in talks with the real stakeholders in APC.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed the embattled President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick as the 1st Vice President of body.

After consultations with members of the Emergency Committee, Pinnick’s appointment follows the resignation of the 1st Vice President, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi and the prevailing situation in the Football Federation of Nigeria, as contained in a letter dated July 5, 2018 signed by CAF’s General Secretary, Amr Fahmy.

The Senate has on Thursday asked the Federal Government to  dismantle the increasing number of road blocks along major federal highways in the South-East manned by a combined force of the Police and the Army.

The legislators say the move would facilitate the free movement of goods, people and services throughout the region and the federation, as it mandated its committees on the Police and the Army to take a tour of the South-Eastern highways to investigate the matter and report back to the upper chamber.

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue has said the state will only accept the Federal Government’s proposed pilot ranching if it conforms to the provisions of the state’s Anti-Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law 2017.

He made this known at NKST Central, Mkar, Gboko, while addressing pastors and the congregation at the 2018 Synod, explaining that the idea of having many ranches in a particular area, which translates to cattle colony was a good one, but Benue has no free land to donate for such venture.

Imo Deputy Governor of Imo, Prince Eze Madumere, has lamented alleged persecution of his supporters at the State House of Assembly and other members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

As contained in a statement signed by his Media Aide, Uche Onwuchekwa, Madumere disclosed this at a church service to mark his 54th birthday and has vowed to remain focused and committed in his efforts by helping in the deliverance of projects that would impact positively on the people.
