Opinion: Why Donald Trump will lose [A Rejoinder]

By Joseph Abiagom

Yesterday, while reading my morning routine of YNaija articles, (you guys are doing a great job by the way), I came across Chineme Uzo’s article that suggested “Why Donald Trump will defeat Hillary Clinton.” I chuckled and read the article out loud to a few friends of mine, and to be frankly, they were slightly irritated with the points raised by Mr. Chineme Uzo.

Anyways, being the only skilled writer amongst them, I decided to disagree with Chimezo’s points at the same time, briefly inform my fellow Ynaija readers about the hidden facts of the U.S political scene. To start with, I would like to applaud Mr. Chimezo for a well orgnanized and written (partially factual) article. Then also, reinforce my opinion on why Donald Trump would lose to Hillary Clinton in the forth coming elections. Here it goes (I would make it brief, I hate long articles)

If you have been following the electoral trends, you would have noticed that Hillary Clinton has been leading the National polls and the gap widens by the day. The democrat nominee has been picking up wins even in so called republican states. CNN political analysts are saying that at this point there could be a possible landslide because states such as Geogia, Utah and Arizona could give Clinton a huge potential triumph. I feel this is necessary considering the fact that you did not give us a current poll evaluation.

This leads me to next point; you wrote a solid background of the two parties, giving us the values and culture, Great!  But you forgot to mention that Donald Trump is not a Party Man, and does not align or share the ideals and sentiments of the Republican Party; hence he is walking into an election without full compliments from the party. He has consistently continued to be antagonistic to the party establishments. In recent times republicans are speaking out against him and pledging allegiance to “crooked Hillary”, this is reflected in the dissociation of George bush, who says “A man like Donald Trump is not fit to be the chief commander of the USA.

Hence, we can deduce that things are not looking too good for him. Am I right? and Hillary on the other hand has full support from her party, with people like Michelle Obama, Bill Clinton, and even the mother of the Libya ambassador(you mentioned) that was murdered has openly revolted against your “the Donald” telling him that the usage  of her son’s name is opportunistic and cynical. Did you watch the Democrat convention?

More so, if I can recall you made mention of Hillary Clinton’s scrutiny and performance as the secretary of state. But you also forgot to mention that Obama’s performance shows that the economy data currently suggest that Obama government is doing well, and besides getting a good backing of Obama, she has been critical in Obama’s project, and besides that her husband, Bill Clinton still has his admirers, so there is a great tendency that people would see her as a continuity of Obama and bill Clinton’s good deed. Don’t you think so?

Like you said as we are getting closer to the November election, please allow me to give solid reasons you (Ynaija readers) why Donald would lose.

Firstly, an important factor that determines an election is the minorities which are the black’s and Latino’s. Trump’s position on the matter of immigration has not helped in building neither gaining support for him. Also is his bigotry pronouncement about Islam religion.

More so, there have been a lot of sentiments especially from the feminist angles; hence a lot of famous Feminist actors, entrepreneurs, got her back.

In conclusion, nobody in his right sense would vote for an immature mind like Donald Trump, which is reflected in His mannerisms, cocky attitudes, and childish behavior. Would you like such a person to have the arsenal nuclear codes?

My dad told me something once, “Those who don’t know what it feels like to enter a bus, Hustle for a job, can’t lead a nation”. Thankfully Hillary does, she did not grow filthy rich. So let’s wait and see that I am right. Thank you.
