The governor of Imo, Rochas Okorocha‘s spokesperson, Sam Onwuemeodo has said the appointment of Mrs Ogechi Ololo as the Commissioner for Happiness and Couples’ Fulfilment is not unusual.
Why it matters: Nigerians expressed total displeasure for such an appointment, considering the outburst on the erection of statues is still in the tunnel – not forgetting the several other projects he has done in the state.
The Commissioner’s reaction: The governor’s spokesman could not provide exact details of Ololo’s responsibilities but said, “There is nothing unusual about the appointment”.
“The governor is a man of ideas, always introducing new things to governance.”
The commissioner’s job “is an innovation that should be copied by other governors,” he added.
He “wants to always make the people happy. That’s why he has created a ministry for that purpose.”
