‘Wike diverting attention from noose around his neck by probing Amaechi’ – APC

The River state All Progressives Congress (APC), on Saturday, accused the state governor, Nyesom Wike, of trying to divert attention from the investigation of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) into his administration by probing the school projects carried out by former Governor Rotimi Amaechi’s administration.

The APC made this known in a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Chris Finebone, who described Wike’s administration as inglorious while noting that the governor rose to power on the blood of innocent citizens.

“The Rivers State Chapter of APC, sadly notes that the Rivers State government and the PDP in Rivers State, have once again, resorted to their old choreograph of indulging in wild and baseless accusations as a means of diverting attention whenever the noose is tightening on the inglorious regime of Governor Nyesom Wike, who climbed on the blood of innocent citizens to power as governor.”

“The recent reported invitation to certain companies and persons by the Rivers State Secondary School Board on alleged monies collected for renovation of secondary schools in Rivers State by the last administration under Rotimi Amaechi is nothing more than the old tired refrain by the Wike administration and the PDP to divert attention.”

“They are diverting attention from the widely reported decision by the EFCC to probe an obvious humongous fraud surrounding the unlawful withdrawal of N11 billion from the coffers of the Rivers State government by Wike through the Government House Director of Finance and Administration, (DFA), one Mr. Kingsley Fubara between October 2015 and February 2016.”
