Now here’s a U.S poll Trump would love: Clinton has lower numbers

With President Donald Trump’s poll numbers dropping daily, here’s something he can console himself with: Hillary Clinton is doing worse, Bloomberg reports.

In the latest Bloomberg National Poll, 39% of Americans view Former Secretary of state Hilary Clinton favorably, two points lower than President Trump’s 41%. The survey shows Clinton has lost popularity even among those who voted for her in the November elections.

Pollster J. Ann Selzer, who oversaw the survey said; “There’s growing discontent with Hillary Clinton even as she has largely stayed out of the spotlight, it’s not a pox on the Democratic house because numbers for other Democrats are good”.

Since the elections, Clinton has been out of sight except for a few speeches the occasional shade thrown at Trump tweaks Twitter. In follow-up interviews with poll participants, Clinton voters denied that their poor ratings were connected to her loss.

A 29-year-old respondent said; “She did not feel authentic or genuine to me, she was hard to like. But I don’t blame her for Trump,” she said. “There were a lot of factors that fed into Trump becoming a president and she was just one of them”. Clinton suffers from gender and racial gaps. Just 35 percent of men hold a favorable view of her, compared to 43 percent of women. And just 32 percent of whites like her, while 51 percent of non-whites do.

The telephone poll had 1,001 American adults with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points, higher among subgroups. The poll was conducted July 8-12 by Iowa-based Selzer & Co.
