Too hot to handle?
For a second time since his trial began, Nnamdi Kanu, the embattled leader of secessionist group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has accused the trial judge, in his criminal prosecution for treason, of being biased.
Alongside his co-accused, David Nwawusi and Benjamin Madubugwu, the Radio Biafra Director made the accusation against Justice James Tosho.
Justice Tsoho is the second judge that Kanu is accusing of bias since his trial began.
The trio, in expressing their displeasure, had asked an Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal to order the Chief Judge of The federal High, Justice Ibrahim Auta, to re-assign the case to another judge, thus withdrawing the case from Justice Tosho.
The accusation of bias against Justice Tosho comes on the heels of the judge’s verdict on Monday, when he had ruled that the prosecution witnesses can cover their faces while testifying, so as to hide their identities.
But Kanu, and his co-defendants, prayed the court of appeal to overrule the judgement of Justice Tosho and also transfer the case to another judge.
