NLC task force shuts down schools, banks, offices in Jos

Businesses in Jos and Bukuru metropolis, the capital city of Plateau state, have reportedly shut down following the strike declared by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC).

According to The Punch, officials of the NLC led by one Sunday Akinfolarin had mobilized early in the day, persuading workers to shut down their businesses.

The NLC officials are said to have moved from office to office, pursuing workers from their place of work. The action by NLC has paralyzed commercial activities in the state.

Government offices, schools and banks, were also shut down, thus preventing workers and students from accessing the offices.

Also workers of the state House of Assembly were prevented from accessing the complex.
