Nigerian man arrested in Germany for being connected to ISIS

Coming on the heels of last month’s terror attack at Brussels airport, a 29 year old Nigerian is reported to have been arrested by German authorities over an alleged connection with Islamic state in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

According to reports by international newspaper, Reuters, the unnamed Nigerian was detained by German police alongside an Iraqi man.

They are both accused of planning to perpetrate “a serious act of violence”.

Speaking on their arrest, Thomas Steinkraus-Koch, a German prosecutor, said the arrested men have been in contact with Islamic terror group, ISIS, according to intelligence reports.

Although German police has refused to release names of both men pending further investigations, the police however, noted that they are being detained in Munich and nearby Fuerstenfeldbruck.

The police also disclosed that nothing suspicious was found on both men when they were arrested, but they were pursuing their investigation to a reasonable extent.

ISIS had on Tuesday released a video threatening further attacks on several important cities including London, Berlin and Rome.
