Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment has threatened to sue the Chairman of the House of Representatives on Finance, James Falake, over claims of inserting N2 billion projects in the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) 2020 budget.
The Minister who accused Falake of either being “mischievous or ignorant of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) Act or both”, also alleged that he is abusing “parliamentary privilege” and also ignorant of the fact that ministers cannot pad budgets because the final products come from the National Assembly. He also expressed readiness of challenging the lawmaker in court.

Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu tests positive for coronavirus
Nigerian striker, Paul Onuachu, who plays for Genk in Belgium has tested positive for coronavirus. According to Belgian news hub, HLN Sport, all players of the club were tested on Tuesday, in the run-up to the first friendly game ahead of the new season. They all tested negative except Onuachu.
408 Nigerians evacuated from India and UAE arrive Nigeria
408 Nigerians who were stranded in India and the United Arab Emirates UAE have arrived the country. According to the Nigerian Diaspora Commission NIDCOM, 162 of them were evacuated from India while 246 were evacuated from the UAE. According to NIDCOM, all the evacuees tested negative for COVID-19 before boarding the flights.
Wike sacks permanent secretary for flouting COVID-19 guidelines
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers has sacked a permanent secretary in the state, Sunny Okere for flouting and obstructing the enforcement of the COVID-19 guidelines. The permanent secretary was accused of chasing away officials of the state Ministry of Health, who went to Oyigbo to enforce the established guidelines on public burials.
