The Supreme Court has dismissed an application filed by Herman Hembe, sacked member of the House of Representatives from Benue State.

What happened:

• The Supreme Court had sacked Hembe, ruling that Dorathy Mato won the Vandeikiya/Konshisha federal constituency election.
• The apex court order Hembe to return all salaries paid to him throughout his stay in office.
• The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had presented certificate of return to Mato.
• Hembe filed an application, stating that he had spent all the salaries paid to him.

Court ruling:

A five-man panel of judges led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen said the judgement could not be revisited.
