[The Music Blog]: Vector’s attempt to break a World Record sounds like beer parlour banter

Many odd things can come out of a beer parlour banter. In a recent video uploaded by Planet TV featuring Vector and a host of others, you see what I mean exemplified. Vector in a series of edited clips announcing his intent to put Nigerian rap on the map with a 13-hour long rap challenge aimed at breaking a Guinness World Record. Only problem is the world record for longest rap freestyle is currently owned by Spanish rapper, Arkano who rapped non-stop for 24 hours, 34 minutes and 27 seconds last year.

In fact, before Arkano, an American rapper called Murs rapped for 24 hours and 15 minutes. The closet to Vector’s goal of thirteen hours is a pre-existing record of 9-hours that was previously held by Canadian rapper, Chiddy Bang in 2011. It’s unclear if Vector did his research, but as you can see from the ambiance of where this video was recorded (amidst red disposables and sippy cups), we can’t rule a possibility that someone must have had a beer parlour moment.

For non-alcoholics, a typical beer parlour moment is when an out-of-my-ass fact is pulled out for all to ponder upon by a fellow drinkers on the same table. And as expected, the conclusion of what happens next lies in moments like that captured in the atypical video above.

Still, we await the plans Vector will put in place for the live event. It would be easy to allude the entourage around him as mere beer buddies, but Yung6ix is seen on one end, as well as former-YBNL rapper, Chinko Ekun. Vector may be on to something here, but someone has to tell him to shift the goal by a double.
