Minister reportedly slumps during inspection at IDPs camp

Minister for Women Affairs, Aisha Jumai AlHassan on Monday slumped at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Fufore local government area of Adamawa State, Guardian reports.

According to reports, she was inspecting foodstuffs at the camp’s store when the incident happened.

It was also reported that immediately she slumped, her aides stopped journalists from taking pictures while engaging them in physical combat.

 

The minister had earlier addressed the IDPs, stating that her visit was to investigate allegations of rape and child abuse in IDPs camps.

She promised the IDPs that they would be back to their homes soon, as the government was making efforts to resettle them.

The minister also presented assorted items to the IDPs during her visit.
