Mid-air tyre explosion: 400 passengers escape death as airplane makes emergency landing in Sokoto

Reports reaching us says another plane crash has been averted this morning in Sokoto.

According to sources, a Kabo Aircraft  bound for Saudi, carrying about 400 passengers from Kano made an emergency landing at the Sir Abubakar III international Airport when the tyres  exploded immediately after take off.

It was gathered that the Boeing 747 jumbo jet, left Kano on Friday en route Saudi Arabia but had to divert to Sokoto when the incident happened,all the passengers on board have been successfully evacuated and lodged in a hotel in the state.

This incident is coming barely 72 hours after an Embraer aircraft belonging to Associated Airlines with registration number, 5N-BIT bound for Akure crashed in Lagos shortly after take-off from the Murtala Muhammed Airport.

The 30-seater aircraft had 20 passengers on board including seven crew members on board and the remains of former Ondo State governor, Olusegun Agagu crashed about 9:30am, killing 13 persons.
