Remember when you rude internet people dared to make a meme off Michelle Obama’s face?
On January 20, 2017, the people of the United States of America got their wish, Donald J. Trumps as the President of their free world while the rest of the world got signed up for a show of a lifetime. How did we know it was about to be constant
How did we know it was about to be constant show-governance by Trump & Friends (family too, but we did not know this in January)?
It started with an out-of-character look that Michelle Obama, then FLOTUS – and possibly most liked woman in all of America – shot, presumably, at the incoming President.
And then the internet went berserk:
My new goal in life is to side eye as great as @MichelleObama pic.twitter.com/YFIZfHCfpb

Honestly, you internet people are mean.
But Michelle Obam, who has just returned from a luxurious vacation with her husband which started right in the middle of the inauguration ceremonies, has said that she was, in fact, trying to hold back tears and not side-eyeing Trump. Now we don’t know which is shadier.
She opened up about the incident while speaking at the American Institute of Architects in Orlando, saying she was captured trying to hold back on the emotions because she “didn’t want to have tears in my eyes because people would swear I was crying because of the new president”.
She explained that her daughters, Malia and Sasha were leaving the White House at the back and saying their goodbyes to people. And that’s the reason she was so emotional.
“So that moment of transition, right before the doors opened and we welcomed in the new family, our kids were leaving out the back door in tears, saying goodbye to people.”
In any case, even though she may have been sad to leave the White House at that moment, Obama has maintained that she’s done with public life.
