The Media Blog: TheNativeMag is the new hang out spot for the cooler culture kids

Quietly, but steadily, TheNativeMag is owning the coolest sections of the culture with a perceptive, nuanced views of the goings-on and the people who make it happen.

Launched in December 2016 by its founder Seni Saraki, it isn’t making a lot of noise with it, but it is doing it.

First with music coverage that reminds us keenly of the magic of our once-sister-brand Sounds.ng, and then with fashion and general coverage across the culture.

This post, for instance, is one of the reasons why we think what they’re doing is really special and why it is slowly seeping down the hearts and minds of key cultural influencers across the country.

We don’t know if it survives or if it lasts – that niche space has swallowed too many ambitious people from Soundcity Blast to Reloaded – but we know that what’s it’s doing is worth doing.

Meanwhile, guys, whats happening to the quarterly print edition you promised?
