The Media Blog: ‘Jemeji’ is Africa Magic’s latest telenovela, and we can’t wait to watch it tomorrow!

Continuing the pattern kicked off by Hotel Majestic (which, by the way, we miss dearly) and continued by Hush (which continues to thrill us even though we hear it wraps up in a month,) Africa Magic will be launching a new telenovela tomorrow. It’s called Jemeji and, if only because of this promo image we are excited already.

According to the Africa Magic website, the show “tells the story of a young medical doctor who returns home after studying abroad and is excited to be posted to a village to work.” There’s more “what however seems like a dream come true soon becomes a nightmare without end as family and childhood secrets begin to unravel.”

There’s a lot more to be excited about, too. The show stars A’rese of The Voice in what appears to be her first major screen role (apart from a recurring appearance on Tinsel last year) as well as Ayoola Ayolola, who’s shown serious potential and is one of the only redeeming things on Skinny Girl In Transit. first episode synopsis teases “possibly supernatural secrets” so we can already tell this isn’t our everyday show. It also stars Akin Lewis, Mercy Johnson (is this her first television show?) Tope Tedela and Bucci Franklin.

9pm tomorrow, Africa Magic Showcase, we know where we’ll’ be!
