Just yesterday, we were out here effusive in our praise of Senator Ben Murray-Bruce for suggesting that lawmakers, governors and top government officials should get a salary cut while civil servants who actually get the job done get “jumbo pay”. It sounded good to us and we had to admit that the man was actually making common sense, the mantra he promotes.
But here’s blogger and social commentator, J.J Omojuwa who is of the belief that Senator Murray-Bruce is just a chatterbox who has nothing up his sleeves. To be candid, we’ve made this point a few times before but Omojuwa has taken it to an all new level by creating a word for the senator’s actions (inactions); BENBRUCING!
The senator just as everyone else, condemned the NCC’s directive to increase data rates but Mr Omojuwa is not here for literally “useless” talk.
Just look at:
Don't bother yourself sir. A Senator who talks and is not into benbcrucing already did. Help us thank Senator Ibn Na'Allah! https://t.co/YbVWVymkce

This is an example of a benbrucing tweet. Because when the time finally came to do what he said he'd do, he was conveniently absent pic.twitter.com/sgtl4NuC05

I will fight! I will se kinikan! I will se kinikan! Oya, boda, time for fight na, "I am coming" 'Wait for me" "I am on my way"

Any news like, "FG Plans to" "Buhari Orders the…" "FG Commits to" 'FG Will…" are benbrucing news. Just do it! Then tell us you did it!

And the final killer:
Rubbish in a house of wood.

Which is the English translation for that popular Yoruba expression: Oshi o da n’ile pako.
Question is: how did Senator Ben Murray-Bruce get to this point?
