Meanwhile, in Southeastern Nigeria, The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has urged the Federal High Court in Abuja to vacate an order proscribing it, arguing that its members are not violent, so it would be wrong to declare it a terrorist group.

Following a presidential order submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday, the court officially proscribed the activities of the group on Wednesday and declared it a terrorist organisation.

Also, the United Kingdom has denied that the Federal Government made a request for it to shut down Radio Biafra.

This is following Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed’s claim that the Federal Government approached the British government to shut down the station but it didn’t.

Spokesman of the British High Commission, Joe Abuku said: “The UK is not aware of any representation from the Nigerian government about Radio Biafra.”

In the North, Boko Haram insurgents killed nine people in the Rann Internally Displaced Persons camp in Borno on Wednesday, an aid worker and a resident confirmed.

“Nine people were killed while working on their farms about three kilometres (just under two miles) from Rann,” he told AFP. “They (Boko Haram) regularly ambush farmers and kill them.”

However, the Nigerian Army said reports that the Boko Haram terrorist group currently control seven Local Government Areas(LGAs) in Borno state are false.

Deputy Director Public Relations, Theatre Command Operation Lafiya Dole, Colonel Onyema Nwachukwu said one Buba Galadima in an interview claimed ‘Seven Local Governments Areas of Borno State were still under control of Boko Haram terrorists’.

He said the terrorists are currently on the run and are unable to take over any area in the North-East.
