The Inspector General of Police, Adamu Adamu, has cautioned men of the Nigeria Police Force currently deployed for the enforcement of the lockdown and social restriction orders, to ensure that they do not trample on the rights of Nigerians upon under any pretext.

The police chief gave the warning in a statement released by the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, Frank Mba. Adamu in the statement stressed that persons on essential duties that have been duly exempted from the restriction orders, should be accorded due courtesies and unfettered access to and fro their places of duty.

NCDC boss says Coronavirus results from Akwa Ibom are accurate

The Director-General of the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC, Chikwe Ihekweazu, has reacted to the statement released by the Akwa Ibom government, disputing the test result released by the agency and demanding a re-take of the test.

Recall that on Wednesday, the NCDC announced five cases of Coronavirus in Akwa Ibom. The state government in a statement released by its Health Commissioner, Dominic Ukpong yesterday, said they were not informed by the agency of the Coronavirus cases in the state and heard of the five cases over the news like everyone else. Ukpong asked the agency to have a retake of the tests on the five patients.

The Lassa Fever death toll has risen to 185 in Nigeria amid the fight against Coronavirus outbreak in the country. In a new report shared by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on its Twitter handle on Thursday April 2, it was gathered that the number of newly confirmed cases decreased from 28 in week 12 to 19 cases in week 13, which is the reporting week.

NCDC announces 10 new COVID-19 cases

Ten new cases of Coronavirus has been recorded in Nigeria. The Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC says seven of the new cases were recorded in Lagos, three in Abuja. The Lagos state government earlier today announced the discharge of eleven Coronavirus patients from its Infectious Disease hospital.
