Lagos Govt files fresh charges against suspected kidnap kingpin, Evans

The Lagos State Government has reportedly filed fresh charges against suspected kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, known as Evans.

Reference: Evans was arraigned alongside five others on an amended two-count charge of conspiracy and kidnapping.

At the arraignment, he had pled “not guilty,” despite initially admitting guilt when first arraigned on August 30.

The new charges: According to Channels Television, the new charges against Evans ranges from attempted kidnap and murder.

The charges are said to include seven counts of conspiracy and the attempted kidnap of Vincent Obianodo, chairman of The Young Shall Grow Motors.

Evans was also alleged to have murdered a policeman attached to Obianodo while in another four counts, he allegedly conspired with some others to kidnap one Sylvanus Hafia.

The fresh charges are said to have been filed at the Lagos High court where he would be arraigned on October 23.
