Just In: Edo election to hold as scheduled, despite security threats – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that Saturday’s Edo State governorship election will hold as scheduled, The Punch reports.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, announced this during a press briefing at the state headquarters of the commission.

There have been speculations as to whether the election will hold or not following a security report by the Police and the DSS on Wednesday calling for its postponement.
