Another judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja, Justice John Tsoho has withdrawn from the trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
The first judge in the case, Ahmed Mohammed had withdrawn from the case in 2015 after Kanu said he has no confidence in him.
Kanu has accused Tsoho of “judicial rascality” and demanded an investigation on him.
He alleged that Tsoho had given different judgments on the same request.
Kanu’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor said Tsoho ruled in favour of the prosecution without permission from a higher court after he had ruled in favour of the defence earlier.
Another counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, Chuks Muoma on Monday said it would be injustice for Tsoho to continue ruling on the case.
Tsoho announced he had stepped down, pending the decision of the council.
“Even if I am cleared of any bias by the NJC, I will not continue with this case,” said Mr. Tsoho.
