Amidst reports that he had gone on exile owing to his relatively protracted stay outside Nigeria, former President Goodluck Jonathan has returned to the country.
Main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made this known in a tweet put out on Wednesday.
The hero of our democracy is back home. pic.twitter.com/6JW9UHHoG7

Jonathan was given the title the ‘hero of democracy’ by his supporters and apologists as a result of the manner in which he conceded defeat to President Muhammadu Buhari, in the last presidential election.
The supporters of the former President and many Nigerians on Twitter have reacted to his return with the resurrected trend #GEJWhileYouWereAway.
#GEJWhileYouWereAway those PDP handles stoped tweeting cuz dollar don rise. Pls com nd pay dem to make jokes of themselves.
