The Tango With Me star surprised his fans when he released an album in December 2012.

Joseph Benjamin had boasted that the album titled: Merry Christmas, was the first of many to come.

Sadly, it’s been 3 years and nothing has been heard from Mr. Benjamin, as he appears focused more on his acting skills and events hosting.

 

 

 

The Nollywood sweetheart is one of Nigeria’s most celebrated actresses and red carpet style-star.

The award-winning actress, who was featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show a few years ago, has also ventured into the Nigerian music industry.

On Saturday, December 11, 2004, the single mother of one, launched her debut album, One Logologo Line in Accra, Ghana. To promote the album, Genevieve released a video for one of the singles, No More.

Since the release of this album, Genevieve hasn’t returned the studio for a follow-up.

 

 

Yoruba actress, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, is known for her comic gimmick in movies.

The mother of two, once attempted to join her colleagues who hold a desire to excel in the music scene.

Ronke Oshodi-Oke’s musical career began in 2014, the same year she launched her debut album with a single titled Ori Mi featuring 9ice.

She has collaborated with musicians like Pasuma and Oritsefemi. However, her singles and album failed to gain any form of traction.

 

 

Now the latest Nollywood baby-daddy, Jim made a foray into the Nigerian music industry by releasing the video of his first song, Who am I featuring one of Africa’s biggest music stars, 2Face Idibia.

Jim Iyke later released a follow-up video for another song Born To Do This, this time around, featuring Puffy T.

The initial buzz generated by the singles would eventually fizzle out… and Jim Iyke’s music career followed suit.

 

 

Nowadays, this Nollywood veteran actress, Patience Ozokwor is raking-in endorsements and the big bucks.

But a few years ago, Patience who has starred in over 200 Nigerian movies, delved into the music industry under the stage name Mama G.

She released lots of videos for her songs including Ihe Neme N’uwa, Iyo Ngwo Ngwo, Adaeze, Make We Jolly and National Moi Moi, where Nollywood actors, Tonto Dikeh and Charles Awurum, made cameo appearances.

We admit that her songs were a hit at the time they were released, but the actress couldn’t keep up with the demand of being a musician.

 

 

For Yoruba movie veteran, Idowu Philips- popularly known as Iya Rainbow- the desire to be a musician has nothing to do with age.

Thus, she joined the growing number of thespians trying to break the boundaries of their creativity by singing.

She recently released a gospel track titled Ore Ofe off her forthcoming gospel album.

The new single features popular Fuji star, Wasiu Alabi a.k.a Pasuma.

Better known as Osuofia, Nollywood actor, Nkem Owoh, released some hilarious videos, which were incidentally soundtracks to his hit movie- Osuofia in London.

Nkem Owoh released several singles like; I Go Chop Your Dollar, Olamma, Akalaka, Marry Me and School Na Good Thing.

After receiving a decent reception for his singles, Nkem Owoh’s career seems to have gone with the wind.

The movie star joined the Nigerian music industry a few years ago with her debut album Gba.

Back then, Omotola had said that she decided to join the music industry because: “I have things that I want to say, I love to sing, I want to express myself through music which I can’t do through movies.”

Her first album was released in 2005. Later on, Omotola teamed up with Paul Play, Del B and Harry Song to produce her sophomore album Me, Myself and Eyes.

It was launched on Friday 24th September 2010 under the label, Red Hot Records.

However, it’s obvious that Omosexy may have slowed down on her music career and has handed over the baton to one of her sons, Captain E.

 

Not many knew that even before she became a household name in the Nigerian movie industry, Stella Damasus was a professional singer.

Critically acclaimed for her dramatic movie roles, Stella also proves she can battle with the songstresses in the music industry.

In the past few years, little has been heard from the Delta State born actress, who seems to have relocated to the United States.

 

 

 

The self-acclaimed Poko queen is signed to D’banj’s record label.

Tonto Dikeh made her entry into the music scene with a couple of singles, Get Hi, Sugar Rush featuring D’banj.

Her songs have been extremely criticised by her fans but the actress is not ready to bow to the pressure to leave the mic.

She was, at some point, described as Nigeria’s worst singer, but she cares less and is ready to ‘thrill’ her fans with more music after her upcoming wedding.
