Why Iyanya dumped Ubi Franklin’s MMMG label + more on The Slab with Isime

Chuks Okpani, Roqeebah Olaoniye, Ezinne Ajoku and Tolu Omoyeni join Isime Esene on The Slab this week to talk about Iyanya’s move to Mavin Records, Lagos government employing university graduates as bus conductors, and Senate’s ‘rejection’ of Buhari’s $29.9 billion loan application.

“What I feel about the whole thing is that he has gotten to a stage in his career that he wants more international recognition perhaps. You could see that he’s thinking of a path that follows with structure,” Chuks said about Iyanya’s MMMG Label exit. “We might have to take you back to… during the Headies when the Mavins and Olamide’s boys were fighting, you will notice that even in that squabble there was structure because… at that point it’s like Don Jazzy sent a message that to everybody that nobody should say anything about it and nobody did. Everybody in Olamide’s team were just ranting all over the place.”

Does this explain Iyanya’s decision to part with long-time partner, Ubi Franklin? Listen below for more…
