About 37 members of the House of Representatives elected on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) platform have decamped to the major opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Earlier this month, some 22 members of the PDP also defected to the APC, despite an attempt by the PDP National Chairman, Bamanga Tukur, to stop the move.

The decampment of the 37 reps was announced during the Plenary session of the House today.

Premium Times reports:

Though the names of the decampees were not mentioned, they are believed to be lawmakers from the five states whose governors recently left the PDP to join the APC.

The five governors who decamped were Musa Kwankwaso (Kano), Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto) and Murtala Nyako (Adamawa).

More details later.
