The Cross River government has ordered workers in the state’s civil service to resume work after a temporary suspension over the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement released by governor Ben Ayade‘s spokesperson, Christian Ita, civil servants from grade level 10 were asked to resume work on Tuesday. The returning civil servants were also told to adhere to the ‘no mask, no movement’ policy of the state government. The statement further added that mass gatherings of all kinds such as worships, weddings, burials remain prohibited, residents would be allowed into public places such as markets, malls, sports, and banks if they use the appropriate mask.

Cross River recorded its first case of Coronavirus on April 1, and with the steady surge of the contagion, the government’s new order to forgo social distancing could see a spread of the respiratory infection. This is reckless on the part of the government. What do you think?

FG says it didn’t invite Chinese doctors to Nigeria – Osagie Ehnaire

The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire has dispelled claims of the federal government inviting Chinese doctors to help in the fight against Coronavirus in the country.

The Minister who made the clarification while appearing on Channels TV’s News at 10, said the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) brought in the doctors to help the FG.

NCDC confirms five new cases of Coronavirus in Kwara, Katsina and Lagos

5 new cases of Coronavirus has been confirmed in Kwara, Katsina and Lagos states by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC). There are now 19 states with confirmed cases of Coronavirus. As at April 12 yesterday, there are 323 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria. 85 have been discharged, and 10 deaths have been recorded.

Don’t treat Coronavirus patients privately, Osagie Ehanire tells health workers

The Minister of Health, Ehanire Osagie has warned health workers against treating suspected cases of Coronavirus privately.

Osagie who said this at the Presidential Task Force daily media briefing on last week Friday, directed all health workers to refer all cases to certified healthcare facilities for isolation and management.
