Incredible! SEE how feminism is practiced Saudi-style (PHOTO)

saudi women conference

by Akan Ido

It’s strange how a conference meant to discuss the topic ‘women in society’ does not have a single woman participating.

The conference, reportedly held at the University of Qassim last year, was attended by representatives from 15 nations, apparently all men.

Segregation between men and women in the gulf country has been widely criticised with women not allowed to drive and do many other things allowed by the opposite sex. This is due to the ultra-conservative Wahhabi sharia law.

They also need permission from a male relative or their husband to work, travel, study or marry and a woman’s testimony counts for less than that of a man in a court of law.

What do you think about this. Let’s have your say.

  1. I think u should look mre into the problems in ur own country rather than the lifestyle of others with which dey seem quite comfortable.with all the women participating, what difference has it made?has corruption ended?u should have used dis tym to profer solutions 2 issues in ur country

  2. That is none of anybody's business. The policies are in place to give women security and safety. When have you heard of issues of rape, torture or molestation of women among the adherents?

    1. Abdusalam, really? No incidents of rape, etc, in the kingdom? Wow! You must be living in some cave somewhere very isolated.

    2. Mr Abdulssalam Pakistan a predominantly muslim country has one of the highest incidences of rape in the whole world, are Pakistani's not adherents???

  3. its our law and every religion has dias, cos our religion protect our women from every sort of over exposion, ppl shud try ans respect dat

  4. That is the Saudi way. Discussing how much longer to keep their women in the kitchen, perpetually barefoot and pregwaa, nant

  5. It is a big privilege for me to express my opinion. I am residing in that particular country, if we can follow the practise to at least keep our women away from wrong, may be our dear Country Nigeria will be a great nation. I know some will criticize me for this i am telling you the truth women liberation is one of our major problem in Nigeria, because they are meant to be pamper and kept very well. Some foreigners are allow to drive if you have what it takes to do so. All the unverified news should be left for what does not concern us, they are following what they believe is best of all the practice in their Holy Book i.e Quran. An adage says what we keep usually be the best (OHUN TI ABA FI PAMO NI OMA UN NIYI).

  7. What the kingdom of Saudi did is the right thing according to the injunctions of islam. Women’s right has been fully stated in qur’an. A whole chapter is dedicated to women because of their relevance.

  8. Are these people joking? Maybe all the women should plan and poison the husbands before they sit up and pay attention.

    1. Think before you make any comment, they are living best of what a normal human being can call enjoyment of life, kindly look inward to your country to make correction to all half naked women that are talking in public, they should desist if not the full wrath of GOD will soon consume them.

      1. take your advice and think before you talk
