In December, RCCG will feed 50m people in 197 countries

One of the most vilified and misunderstood institutions in Nigeria is the Church. Many people have their reservations about the Church – some of which are justified. Not with the constant power tussle and the money scheming skills of some pastors.

However, this is not what the Church is all about. In Nigeria, when you speak about the institution that has done a lot of work in charity, healthcare, etc, the Body of Christ takes the top spot. Not even the Nigerian government comes close in meeting the needs of its citizenry like the Church. And this is about to get better, as His Love Foundation, the global charity arm of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Christian Social Responsibility (CSR) is set to feed fifty million people in 197 countries in December.

Yes. You read, right. 50 million people in 197 countries will receive free meals next month. The foundation’s whose four-fold mission is to provide: help for the helpless, hope for the hopeless, food for the hungry and strength for the weak has fed 6,925,589 between March and November 2018.

Giving a scorecard of its activities on its website, His Love Foundation has granted 70,536 student scholarships. Its impact is centred around 6 key areas: health, hunger, prisons, education, social enterprise and reformation & rehabilitation.

Its Healing Stripes Hospital has done 9 successful kidney transplants in partnership with medical institutions abroad. So far, 10,784 persons have been reformed and rehabilitated through its various outreaches while 99,684 prison inmates have been impacted.

If this not pure religion (James 1:27) and defending the cause of the oppressed (Isaiah 1:17), I wonder, what is?
