‘If you can endure 30 days of hunger, you can endure anything’ – Aregbesola

Governor of Osun state, Rauf Aregbesola is of the opinion that if people can survive the Ramadan fasting period, then they can survive under any circumstance.

The governor aired his view on Wednesday in Osogbo while speaking after the Eid-el-Fitr prayers.

Aregbesola urged Nigerians to be more tolerant and understanding so as to ensure that the country moves forward.

He also advised Nigerians to apply the experience of the Ramadan to other spheres of their lives.

He said, “We thank Almighty Allah for permitting us to survive the fasting.

“We want to tell our people that if we can endure the 30 days Ramadan hunger, we can endure anything.

“Let us use the experience of the Ramadan to re-fashion our lives, be tolerant, persevering and live a life that will add value to our community, state and nation.

“Nigeria needs peace for development and Nigerians must strive for peace as we learn to tolerate and understand one another for harmonious relationships.

“If we live harmoniously, we will have a better society and development will be assured.”

The governor’s wife, Sherifat also advised Muslims to abstain from sins just like they did during the fasting period.
