A criminal suit was filed on Monday against a former Inspector-General of Police, Sunday Ehindero, by the ICPC. This makes him only the second ex-police chief to be charged by an anti-corruption agency.

Also joined in the suit against Ehindero was the suspended Commissioner of Police in charge of Budgets at the Force Headquarters, John Obaniyi.

The both of them were allegedly involed in N557 million arms and ammunition scandal while they were still in the Force.

Earlier this year, on April 2, the ICPC had questioned the former police boss over alleged misappropriation of the sum during his tenure as IG. In two days (June6), an application to arraign the duo would be filed before Justice Mudashiru Oniyangi of the FCT High Court.
