Again, herdsmen attack Taraba villages for revenge, 13 killed

Not less than 13 people have reportedly died in Taraba state as farmers in 3 local government areas were pursued out of their villages by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

The farmers had been attacked by the Fulani herdsmen after two of them were reportedly killed by armed robbers along Kyaior-Gyo Road.

After getting knowledge of the death of their kinsmen, the herdsmen reportedly invaded the farms in Kyaaior, Gindin Kerenya and Tse Gyo villages leaving over 13 people dead, 5 injured and property totaling up to millions of naira destroyed.

The rest of the farmers, fearing for their lives fled to neighboring villages to seek refuge from the rampaging herdsmen.

One of the women kidnapped by the herdsmen, Mngueshima Nyibiam revealed that she was used to get information about the villages and also that the herdsmen had sophisticated weapons in their possession.

The Chief of Tiv people of Bali local government, David Gbaa, further revealed that his people had to flee to Dan-Anacha during the attack for safety.

He also confirmed that the herdsmen were still wrecking havoc at the Bornu Kurkuru of Bali local government area.
